There will be a handful of private jazz performances exclusive to tour participants and you will be introduced to many of New York’s finest jazz musicians.
The tour is jam packed with events but there is plenty of time to catch a Broadway play, go to a sporting event, visit that restaurant you’ve heard so much about, explore the many neighborhoods or simply relax and catch your breath.

Hello friends –
Our talented bookkeeper Marilou Libaste is from the Philippines, and she is actively involved in fund raising and collecting donations for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan which devastated parts of the Philippines just last week.
We would like to support her cause in every way possible, and for this reason we are reaching out to our friends and clients.
We are looking for non perishable food items (canned foods are ideal), any light blankets, light clothing and shoes, small children’s books and toys. There is no weight limit to the boxes being shipped and no limit to the number of boxes being shipped, so anything that you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated.
Items can be dropped off at Travel Concepts, 1716 Marine Drive, West Vancouver (next door to Starbucks)
Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Please note that the last day for drop offs is Friday, November 29th.
The entire Travel Concepts team thanks you in advance for your generosity.
We are so very fortunate.
The Travel Concepts Morocco tour group has just returned from an incredible 14 day adventure to one of the world’s most fascinating countries. One of the highlights of the trip was a pre-dawn camel ride through the Sahara desert to the foot of an enormous sand dune. We got off our camels, climbed to the top of the dune and with our Toureg camel leaders watched the sunrise over the Sahara. It was magical and one of the most special experiences of our lives.
Arlene Kirby, recently revisited Kenya to sample some of the wonderful game viewing in the North of Kenya. Enjoy this post written by our Africa Specialist, Arlene:
Stunning Samburu Intrepids: – The Samburu landscape in Kenya’s dry north, is stunning for its dramatic range of landscapes – the dry plains, river and mountains. The Samburu Intrepids on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro has beautiful spacious tents which feature a private verandah facing the river, including family suites. It’s great country to see the Samburu special five – the Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa Oryx and the long-necked antelope, the Gerenuk besides the big cats of Africa including the elusive Leopard. I was able to see all these animals at close range and within one day of game viewing.
While at the Samburu Intrepids, I was able to visit a local community where the traditional lifestyle still exists. Near the village, the local school and saw the bright and enthusiastic students learning with the most basic of school rooms and equipment.
They are a pastoral tribe, living a nomadic life as they travel through their territory in search of fresh pasture for their valuable herds of goats and cattle. Their entire society and culture revolves around their cattle, particularly because milk makes up a large part of the Samburu diet. Wealth is measured by herd size.
Like the Masai and the Turkana, the Samburu tribe is among the most traditional of all African tribes. They mainly still live the same way they always have, and don’t feel any need to change their customs.
A Samburu village is made up of 5 to 8 families living together in somewhat temporary huts. They move frequently with their herds. The men are responsible for the safety and protection of the village and the cattle, whereas the women manage the children and all other household work.
